In 1974 Chef Bob Foster's mother made the decision to return to college. When breakfast no longer magically appeared
on the table for Bob and his siblings, he got to thinking, or cooking rather.
Cooking proved a natural ability. Beginning with the basics of pizza tossing and burger flipping throughout high school,
he later advanced himself by graduating from Minneapolis Technical Institute with a degree in commercial foods.
After school, Bob immersed himself in everything from classic San Francisco cuisine to small family style Italian. He mastered
his craft through steakhouses to country clubs, catered everyone from brides to rock stars. This eclectic experience led Bob to
find his natural style reflected in his food today. He discovered his passion of working with independently family owned restaurants and anchored
his talent on fresh, real food. Sticking with traditions past and a watchful eye on the future, Chef Bob Foster's culinary creations form a
perfect relationship with the family legacy of Jax Cafe. And, he'll be sure to let his famous food land magically on your table.
